Link shortener with click tracking
A link shortener replaces a long web address with a short link that is easy to share and track. With Krealo QR, you create a short link on krlo.ca, count its clicks and also get its QR code. The Free plan allows up to 10 active links. Pro, at US$5.99 a month, adds the custom slug.
- A short link to copy
- Its QR code to download
- Its click count
What is a short link?
A short link is a brief address that redirects to a much longer one. It slips easily into a message, a post, a business card or an email. When someone clicks krlo.ca/your-slug, they are sent to the destination page you chose.
Why count clicks?
A tracked link tells you whether your message gets read. You see how many people clicked, which helps compare two posters, two posts or two mailings. Free shows the total number of clicks for each link. Pro breaks visits down by day, country, device type and referrer.
A custom slug with Pro
On the Free plan, the slug is random. With Pro, you choose your own: krlo.ca/menu is far easier to remember and say out loud than a random string of letters. A clear slug also builds more trust before the click.
302 redirect: the destination can change
Krealo QR uses a 302 redirect, which means a temporary one. That is what allows the destination address to be changed later, with Pro, without changing the link or the printed QR code. Only http and https addresses are accepted, and dangerous destinations such as javascript: or data: are blocked.
Statistics that respect privacy
For each scan of a short link we record the date and time, country, device type, operating system, browser, browser language, referrer domain and source (QR code or link), kept for one year. No IP address is stored: unique visitors are counted with a one-way fingerprint that changes every day and is deleted after 2 days. You get useful numbers without tracking people.
From short link to QR code, and the API
Every short link comes with its QR code. You can download it as a PNG, or as SVG and PDF with Pro. If you create many links, the Pro REST API lets you create and list them from your own tools.
